Standard Features

  • Choice of Handset Analogue or Digital

The Aastra telephone system supports two types of handset as a standard feature. Customers can choose from the range of Aastra Digital Office handsets for full system features, or any type of Analogue Handset, whether corded or wireless with limited feature functionality.   The selection of Digital handsets provided by Aastra/Positive IT are listed later in this document.
Optional Handsets - Aastra Intelligate can be upgraded to use Digital DECT / Office IP / Hard and Soft Phone SIP Handsets.
Optional Headsets – Aastra Intelligate Office Handsets can be upgraded to offer both corded and wireless headset functionality.

  • Choice of Line Infrastructure Analogue or Digital

The Aastra telephone system supports 2 types of line infrastructure as a standard feature. Customers can choose from either Analogue Lines, BRA ISDN2e or PRA ISDN30e* Digital Lines, based on requirements.
Optional IP Infrastructure – Aastra Intelligate is compatible with IP SIP Trunking, which can offer more lines where physical infrastructure is prohibited and cost savings are essential.

  • Phonebook / Abbreviated Dialling / Dialling By Name (Alpha Dialling)

Through three phones books: Public / Private and Internal, you can forget numbers and dial by name as apposed to number, in addition Public Phonebook entry can be dialed using an abbreviated number.

  • CLIP with Alpha Tagging**

Alpha tagging of telephone numbers using the Phonebook allows you the telephone system to identifier callers by CLI (Caller Line Identity) so that the name of the company/caller is displayed instead of their number.

  • Call Register (Missed Calls/Dialed Calls)**

A basic call register built into the phone menu allows identification of calls missed and dialed.

  • Individual Call Management (Transfer / Broker / Conference** / Call Waiting / Divert and Forward**)

Call management can be controlled by the handset user, calls can be transferred internally and externally, the caller can choose to broker between two callers or enter a conference with all callers. Call Waiting ensures additional call management where resources are limited.   The door key allows calls to be manually forwarded or diverted to multiple locations.

  • Busy/Presence Indicator

All Aastra Office phones apart from the Office 10, 25, 60 feature a busy LED indicator which allow multi functionality. This includes:  Speed Dial, Function, Team and Line Keys.

  • Courtesy Message

A Courtesy message can be automatically played to answered calls while they are queued for the operator.  For example: “Thank you for calling Positive IT, your call is important to us, please wait while we transfer you to an available operator.

  • Music on Hold

On board Music on Hold providing generic customer service based messages for callers on hold.

  • Standard Voice Mail
    Basic mailbox facilities for each extension with the facility for three greetings.
  • Internal Text Messaging
    Basic text messaging facility across all office phones for internal notification.
  • Announcement Facility
    Basic Tannoy/Public Address system for all phones within large office environments.

  • DECT – Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephone

Through DECT technology, cordless telephony can improve the mobility of your workforce, with
full feature transparency.

  • Auto attendant / Advanced Voice Mail Services

An auto attendant can serve many functions, allow your customers to choose quickly their call destination. Free up departments that are currently call dependant. Provide key information to multiple callers without the need to tie up staff resources.
Examples Includes: Department Oriented Businesses, Limited Reception Services, Out of Hours Call Management.

  • Information on Hold

Professional Voice Over Artists to advertise your company’s products and services while callers are on hold.

  • Computer Telephony Integration (CTI)

Integration with customer/supplier database can enhance your Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Know who is calling and pop the customer database on screen to improve your customer service. Telesales opportunities are doubled by dialing from screen, and logging calls and information in your database.

  • Call Logging

  • GSM Gateway

Take advantage of LCR to route specific mobile calls over the mobile phone network to benefit from reduced call charges and free up fixed line infrastructure. Positive IT use GSM Gateways along with our business mobile offerings to provide mobile network connectivity.

  • Voice over IP (VoIP) / IP Telephony

With the convergence of Voice and Data the telephone system market has had to embrace IP based communication. VoIP can bring many benefits to your telephone system which include: networking of company telephone systems, centralisation and sharing of infrastructure, free calling and handset independence.

Examples Include: Small/Branch Office Connectivity, Wi-FI handsets, Geographic Numbers, Location Independence.

  • Door Entry Control

For environments with limited reception facilities or security entry systems, door entry control can be integrated within the telephone system to provide telephone based security at multiple door entry points. In environments that allow for regular visitors, code entry can be added to provide additional override if required.

Examples Include: School Door Entry, Security Checkpoints, Gate Security, Secure Environments.

Audible Notifications
Analogue Bells / Sirens can be added to the system for additional louder ringing notification.
